Mt Rainier

We left Blaine at 8 am and headed for Mt Rainier. It was a beautiful day but we were a little concerned because we had quite a bit of fog. But by the time we got close to the mountain all the fog had burned off. We got to our fist vistor center at about 12:30 and had a nice little picnic lunch. I had been to Mt Rainier back in the 70's with Sue Guinn (Hickey) and her mother. But I needed to go again and get my Nat'l Park Passport stamped.
We first went to the Sunrise Visitors Center but it was closed for the season.
This was at a look out not to far below the Sunrise center.

We took our own picture with the timer. Looks like I have a pole coming out of my head.
These snow poles were about 12 feet high. They must get a lot of snow up this high.

Sunrise is the North end of the Park. This side has alot more glaciers.

Guess what the name of this lake is? Yes it is Reflection Lake.

This picture is taken at the Paradise Visitor Center on the south end of the park.

A young buck about 5 feet right off the trail. Bob had to kind of make him get off the trail, he was not afraid of people at all. Bob walked further up the trail and saw a black bear with a young cub. He didn't get a picture of the bear she took off right as he got there.

A beautiful mountain!
This was a fun trip. We stayed the night in Seattle area and stopped at Virginia Mason Hospital to visit our friends Chris and Pam Crowe who were down from Juneau for some medical treatment. It was nice to get to visit them. Then we headed north but of course we had to stop and do a little shopping. It was a very fun couple of days.

Wow! Great pictures. I'm glad you got one of the two of you, even if you do have a pole sticking out of your head! :) Glad you guys had a great time!
