On The Road Again!

We got the motorhome out of storage in Arkansas and headed back to Washington.

We started out on Sat morning, a day later then we had planned. The first day we drove across Oklahoma, through the top of Texas and into New Mexico. The weather was great and not much wind. When it is windy is not fun driving the motorhome. It can really get pushed around.

The next day we drove up to Ute Mountain in southern Colorado. The next day we had a short day and drove into Utah and stopped at a state park in Green River. We enjoyed sitting and relaxing in the sun.

Then we decided to go to Logan Utah and see how much the town had changed since we last visited, over 20 years ago. Bob and I met in Logan while we were students at Utah State University. We drove by the little house we lived in when we were first married. It had not changed at all. But the town had changed a lot. It now has several stores and malls, as students we only had one store Grand Central (Fred Meyer type store). While driving around town we smelled a hot smell and realized that our front brakes were overheating. We had to have the front calipers replaced, two hours and $400 dollars later we were again in good shape. We decided that after all the stress we would just stay the night in Logan.
The next day we drove through Idaho, and into Oregon. We stayed at an Indian Reservation by Pendleton. We had learned that many of the Indian casinos have cheap campgrounds and cheap food. The next day after having a big breakfast at the casino we headed to Ellensburg to visit friends. Bob and I visited with Kari & Andrew Ponchene (Kari & I worked together at Glacier Baptist preschool and later at Elections, Andrew was Brian's H.S. Construction Teacher). My mother visited with Darrel, Joe and Sandy Dees. Joe and Darrel were friends of my father's, they were builders in Juneau for many years. We all enjoyed catching up on each others lives.
We arrived back in Blaine on Friday afternoon. We were pleased to see that the trees in our back yard were in full bloom. We have been enjoying having a lot of sunshine.

This is a Magnolia Tree

This is a Cherry Tree.
We are told we will get a lot of fruit later this summer
